Welcome to Brussels! After Salzburg (Austria), the international Jurismus event will take place in Brussels the 8th and 9th June 2007. It is no coincidence that it is organised in the capital of Europe, because this year the European Community celebrates its 50th anniversary. A visit to one of the most important European institutions – the European Parlament - was therefore a must. On the programme we also have a classic, i.e. the visit of a local law firm; as legal topic, we have a speech on the law on the international sale of goods, a topic which is interesting for all of us, because in a lot of referred cases the CISG will apply. The second part will be dedicated to legal marketing, where we have a former lawyer and former marketing manager at Allen & Overy's who will introduce us in ‘business development' (how to make clients?). This topic has been chosen while it is an item that is particularly important for young lawyers between 25 and 35 years old. Everyone of us copes with this problem, irrespective the fact whether you are in a big or a small law firm. After this there will be a very concrete testimony of an English Jurimus member, who will speak about the way his law firm positions itself on the legal market. Brussels will not only be very attractive on the professional side, it will also be fun. Besides a dinner in an authentic jazz club we have organised the FIRST JURISMUS TENNIS TOURNAMENT. Eternal Jurismus fame can be your part! As you can see, it is a well balanced program with something for everybody and a lot of opportunities for learning and networking.
