Alistair is a Partner in Rix & Kay’s Dispute Resolution team based in Brighton & Hove. He specialises in high value cross-border litigation with a particular focus on and strong knowledge of claims involving wills, trusts and estates where the tracing and recovery of trust assets out of the jurisdiction often plays a pivotal role. Alistair advises on all aspects of claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act 1975.
Associate member of ACTAPS
Alistair is an Associate Member of the Association of Contested Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), an organisation set up specifically for lawyers specialising in contentious trust and probate work. The Association’s objectives are closely aligned to those of Eurojuris, namely to provide a forum for specialist lawyers to exchange experience, know-how and an appreciation of the law and statutes in this highly specialist area and where possible to enable representations to be made to the appropriate governmental and judicial bodies in relation to contentious trust and probate issues.
Accredited mediator
Alistair has been an accredited mediator with CEDR since 1999. CEDR is the largest conflict and resolution consultancy in the world. Where mediation is commonplace in resolving disputes Alistair has first-hand experience to guide clients through mediation often to a successful conclusion avoiding costly litigation.
