Marco Anink is a member of the Insolvency Practice Group and has extensive experience in both this field, as well as the field of Financial Law. Dutch is his native language, but he’s able to assist in English, Italian, Spanish and Catalan as well. Marco completed a postgraduate Grotius course in finance and collateral in 2017. He is regularly appointed by the Dutch Court to act as a bankruptcy trustee. The team he leads assists their clients – such as (corporate) investors, (other) corporate clients and high-net-worth individuals – with banking and finance transactions and restructuring, on (heavy) negation and legal proceedings regarding matters concerning financial law (including regulatory aspects), intellectual property, contractual and liability issues, insolvency law and commercial law. In recent years, Marco specialised in and has assisted clients with several disputes with their banks regarding the (scope of the) duty of care of the bank, regarding e.g. interest derivatives, loan termination, compliance with AML, KYC and CDD, complex (re)financing and the enforcement of collateral. Given his particular interest in different languages and cultures, Marco represents not only Dutch clients but also several clients from other countries. He has assisted several clients from the translation & interpretation industry on a broad range of matters, such as professional liability and disputes about registration in the national register of certified translators and interpreters.
