Message to colleagues and clients

I love my job and the variety it gives me. I have some wonderful clients. I particularly enjoy court work and the butterflies I still get from it and the open sessions at mediations. I like that the law is constantly changing and we have to keep on our toes to keep up with it

Professional Values and Law Firm Culture

Our team works closely with our Company Commercial, Wills and Estates and Property teams in order to provide a holistic approach to solutions for clients.

Expertise and professional education

Sharon is a Director, Chartered Legal Executive and accredited Mediator and joined Thompson Smith and Puxon in 2000 and is now a corporate partner - becoming Head of the Dispute Resolution team in January 2014.

Sharon has over 19 years’ experience in Dispute Resolution (and Litigation, a name by which the team was previously known). She is professional, friendly and approachable, acting for a wide range of clients, both individuals and businesses, in dispute resolution matters.

Sharon advises her clients on a wide and varied range of cases from landlord and tenant disputes (residential and commercial), breach of contract disputes, commercial disputes, consumer disputes, construction disputes, neighbour disputes – all manner of disputes – harassment and injunctions, mediation, debt recovery, insolvency, contentious probate, professional negligence, and claims under constructive and/or resulting trusts……….life is never dull!

Having had huge success in representing clients at mediations Sharon successfully became an accredited mediator in November 2015. She is passionate about mediation as a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (to avoid the need for contested court proceedings) and enjoys the flexibility it offers and the results it often achieves. Sharon is also a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) which was established for lawyers specialising in contentious trust and probate work. Sharon is a Legal 500 recommended lawyer and the firm’s service in Dispute Resolution was rated as “second to none”.

Prior to choosing a career in the law Sharon worked at the University of Essex for ten years and prior to that was in banking and finance.

In her spare time Sharon enjoys spending time with her family (she has two sons), travelling and particularly enjoys long walks in the countryside and spending time eating with friends.
