Expertise

Simon Gittings is a renowned commercial and agricultural specialist. Recognised in the Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession since it was first published, Simon was originally one of only four ‘leading individuals’ in Yorkshire recommended in the Agricultural and Rural Affairs section. The Guide commended him as ‘very able’ with ‘a wide-reaching experience of rural issues’.

Well versed in both rural and urban land issues, Simon is an astute commercial and business solicitor. Many local and national organisations have benefitted from his commercial acumen, including one of the country’s largest land owners. He has particular expertise in developments of urban regeneration sites across the North of England and acts for individual land owners, consortia and developers in the acquisition and development of residential building land, both brownfield and greenfield sites.

Simon’s long standing involvement with Eurojuris and strong connections with law firms in the USA and Australia help foster the firm’s international relations.

He has also been keenly involved in recruitment and training, both inside and outside the firm, having been instrumental in a number of initiatives, including acting as a Law Society Panel member for the monitoring of Training Contracts.
