Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Eurojuris International

This year’s congress celebrates the network’s 25th anniversary! From 12th to 14th of October Eurojuris members bring the Eurojuris spirit to Brussels, ‘where it all began’, a quarter-century ago.

“I have been participating in Eurojuris events for the last nine years. Because of that, I am very much looking forward to this year’s celebrations!” he tells us. “In particular, I am delighted to meet with former Eurojuris presidents. Furthermore, we hope that the General Assembly will approve the expansion to Asia, it will be an important step towards the future,“ Michael emphasises.

At this moment, “everything is organised and ready to go. No noteworthy obstacles needed to be met. Sure, some fine-tuning will be done in the upcoming days,” he points out. During the Congress, a great variety of excellent networking opportunities awaits in Brussels: social events, national stands, practice group sessions, and sports activities. As for sports: attendance in the football tournament, the golf tournament, as well as the morning jogging, is highly encouraged! “Certainly, the gala party will be a delight. Equally, I am looking forward to the ‘joint jogging – follow your board’. In our law firm, we encourage exercise too. This year, we participated in the Vienna marathon, in two relay teams, as well as the Vienna Charity Run,” he remarks.

In the course of three days, new members will get connected, will meet with former Eurojuris presidents, others will intensify their friendships. Ideas will be shared and future development will be discussed. Side events will take place in beautiful locations, such as La Maison du Cygne, La Quincaillerie, or Le Concert Noble. “Overall, people should enjoy themselves and have a great time!” Michael underlines.

What is more, the General Assembly of Eurojuris Belgium, Eurojuris France, and Eurojuris Germany will be held. Two highly-topical external speakers, Paul Redmond and Nell Watson will present during the plenary session. Vital topics, such as “generations and the future of the legal profession', “emerging technologies”, or “artificial intelligence” are to provide the needed skills beside the basic legal knowledge.

In conclusion, Michael highlights three essentials for the Congress's success: Firstly, “lively discussions, especially in the practise groups, and during the plenary session.” Secondly, “getting to know the new members and include them in the Eurojuris community.” Thirdly, “getting the approval to start Asiajuris. Necessary to that end is the amendment of the statutes by the General Assembly. This would constitute a major step towards the advancement, progress, and development of the network.” Speaking of advance, the next Eurojuris congress will take place in Dubai!
