About

Mr. Steven Menten (1976, Hasselt) graduated as a Bachelor of Law at the Ghent University. In his final year, he resided and studied at the University of Valencia (Spain) in the context of the Erasmus exchange programme. The international nature of this type of exchange led him to complete specialist training in International and European Law at the Vrije Universiteit in Brussels; he completed this course with honours in 2001. In 2001, he began his internship at the bar. Given his interest in commercial law in general, in 2004 he decided to specialise in this area and graduated as a Master of Business Law at the University of Antwerp. Since 1 January 2008, Steven has been affiliated to Adlex Advocaten, where he has been able to specialise further in commercial and administrative law and develop his career. He became a partner on 1 January 2010. He specialises in the field of commercial and contract law in general. He has also gained experience in administrative law, in which he previously focussed on public contract regulations. This means that he can provide advice in relation to and also specialises in dispute settlement before the courts of law, courts of appeal and the Council of State. He has also been granted legal mandate as an official receiver. In 2013, he completed a post-graduate course to become a receiver and liquidator (KUL-UA-UH). He was also active as a member of the Conference of the Jonge Balie in Tongeren. He has been a member of the Order of Lawyers in Tongeren for 4 years and is also a representative in the Order of Flemish Bars in Brussels, where he sits on the committees of ethics, judicial law and communication. He is also a member of the Lions Club Maasland and Round Table Lanaken.
